What You’ll Do
Provide entry-level engineering support across project phases, helping the engineering team deliver accurate, on-time work while communicating technical information in both Mandarin and English.
- Provide general, entry-level technical support to engineering teams during design, construction, and closeout phases
- Help collect, calculate, and analyze field and departmental data used for drafting and design
- Assist with quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and materials planning to support project budgeting and procurement
- Review and interpret CAD drawings (plan sets, details) to assess materials and quantities
- Prepare and submit material requisitions in line with schedules and technical specifications
- Process contractor construction submittals — log, transcribe, track, and organize documentation for review
- Maintain engineering documentation and records in digital databases and spreadsheets
- Draft memos, field reports, and routine correspondence related to project activities
- Participate in meetings and technical discussions; communicate clearly in both Mandarin and English
- Respond professionally to information requests from the public, contractors, and external agencies
- Apply basic engineering principles and mathematical computations to support analyses and tasks
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required by the department
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, environmental, or related)
- Proficient in both Mandarin and English (strong verbal and written communication in both languages)
- Valid driver’s license
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in an engineering role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or coursework with AutoCAD Map 3D, Civil 3D, and/or Revit
- Strong mathematical skills for drafting, quantity calculations, and problem solving
- Experience preparing technical reports, memos, or project documentation
- Ability to interpret and transcribe basic survey and field notes
- Familiarity with drafting techniques, engineering standards, nomenclature, and symbols
- Understanding of engineering graphics and documentation best practices
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary range: $70,000 – $76,000 per year (full-time)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch). Schedule may be flexible based on operational needs.
Location & Work Hours
- Work location: Glendale / Phoenix area, AZ (on-site or hybrid as defined by the hiring manager)
- Must be able to travel locally as needed and attend site meetings
