What You’ll Do

This is a full-time, entry-level Benefits Navigator role (hybrid) supporting a Confidential Client’s health insurance enrollment program in Manhattan, NY. You will provide outreach, education and in-person/virtual enrollment assistance to New York residents — with a strong emphasis on serving French-speaking communities.

  • Provide education and guided enrollment for NY State health plans (Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, Qualified Health Plans) through the NY State Marketplace.
  • Conduct community outreach and represent the program at partner sites, events and pop-ups to identify eligible participants.
  • Schedule and conduct appointments (phone, video, in-person), follow up with reminders, and enter enrollment data into the program database.
  • Meet performance targets: approximately 50 enrollments per month and develop 10 community partnerships within the first 6 months.
  • Track outcomes and write concise post-event reports; share program updates at staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform field work (about 25% of time) and occasional flexible hours (evenings/weekends as needed).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear, culturally competent benefits education in French and English.
  • Convert outreach into scheduled appointments and completed enrollments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and referral sources.
  • Accurately capture participant data and maintain timely documentation in internal systems.
  • Represent the Confidential Client professionally at community events and partner locations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual French required — able to read, write and speak fluently.
  • Entry-level candidates welcome; full training provided on program tools and NY State Marketplace processes.
  • Comfortable with community-based field work (~25%) and a rotating schedule (may include occasional late nights and weekends).
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic online research.
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable learning and using enrollment databases and CRM tools.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: $50,000 / year (as listed by the Confidential Client).
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Schedule: Hybrid — typically 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
  • Location: Manhattan, NY (onsite/hybrid as noted).

Why This Role

  • Hands-on experience with health insurance navigation, enrollment, and community outreach — ideal for candidates interested in healthcare, public benefits, or nonprofit program work.
  • Full training provided; strong opportunity to build skills in case work, client engagement, and public benefits enrollment.
  • Opportunity to make measurable impact helping New Yorkers access coverage.
