Position Overview
The Confidential Client is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician (Night shift) to support residential and inpatient care. In this role you will help maintain a recovery-focused environment, co-facilitate therapeutic activities, support meal supervision, assist clients with daily skills, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate therapeutic activity groups (art, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, games, etc.)
- Participate in therapeutic supported meals and snacks and provide supervision during meal times
- Provide milieu support, including escorting clients to on-site provider appointments
- Engage, coach, and support residents in recovery-focused activities and skill-building
- Complete accurate clinical documentation per Confidential Client policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of clients' protected health information and proprietary organizational information
- Participate in scheduled supervision and request guidance as needed
- Complete assigned mandatory trainings and perform additional duties as assigned
Schedule & Compensation
- Employment type: Full time (32 hours/week)
- Shift: Night — 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend: Saturday availability required
- Compensation range: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
- Final pay is determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
Qualifications
Education & experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or 2+ years of relevant healthcare experience preferred (examples: paraprofessional, mental health technician, behavior specialist, recovery coach)
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or related field is preferred; relevant certifications/licensure a plus
- This is an entry-level role; however, 6+ months of direct client care / milieu experience in mental/behavioral health or a healthcare setting (eating disorder experience preferred) is helpful
- Completion of a Preceptor Program is preferred
Other requirements
- Employees at residential sites must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive (if applicable)
- Ability to engage compassionately with clients and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Required Certifications & Compliance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required within 30 days of hire for residential roles
- First Aid certification — required within 30 days of hire for residential roles
- Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit — required within 30 days of hire for residential site employees in Washington
- Must maintain confidentiality of client protected health information per state and federal law and Confidential Client policy
