Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring Behavior Therapists to deliver in-person, one-to-one support using applied behavior analysis (ABA) for children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum. This is an entry-level role with comprehensive on-the-job training, ongoing supervision, and support to pursue Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
What You’ll Do
- Implement individualized behavior support plans using ABA techniques
- Teach communication, social, motor, play, cognitive, and self-care skills
- Support clients with daily living and personal care routines when needed
- Reduce challenging behaviors through approved intervention strategies
- Collect accurate data on behavior, progress, and skill development
- Use prompting, discrete trial teaching (DTT), and naturalistic learning techniques
- Follow written treatment plans, protocols, and safety procedures
- Apply prevention, redirection, and physical intervention procedures when trained
- Maintain focus and attention for extended periods in dynamic environments
- Collaborate with BCBAs, special education teachers, families, and other team members
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing supervision
- Adapt to daily schedule changes and shifting client needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of college coursework and relevant experience will be considered
- No prior ABA experience required — training and supervision provided to work toward RBT certification
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
- Vehicle capable of safely transporting clients in the back seat as required
- Ability to travel within approximately 45 minutes of Windsor, Vermont and work in Winooski, VT (in person)
- Ability to pass a background check and any state-required screenings
- Physical fitness and coordination to safely support clients and implement prevention/redirection techniques after training
- Strong communication, patience, emotional maturity, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
- Flexibility to work Monday–Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.; schedule may vary by client needs
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $19.22–$25.43 per hour, depending on education and experience (DOE)
- Bachelor's degree with no prior ABA experience: $20.61 per hour

Location & Work Setting
This is an in-person position based in Winooski, VT. Work settings may include clinics, public and private schools, client homes, and community environments. Travel within the local service area and occasional travel to nearby towns (approximately 45 minutes from Windsor, VT) may be required.
