Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Behavior Therapist (entry-level to experienced) to provide in-person applied behavior analysis (ABA) support for children, adolescents, and young adults in Fairfax, VT. This Behavior Therapist role offers paid on-the-job ABA training, supervision toward RBT certification, and a competitive hourly rate of $19.22–$25.43 based on experience and education.


What You’ll Do

Behavior Therapist — Fairfax, VT

This role requires implementing individualized behavior support and education plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or special education teacher. You will work directly with clients to teach communication, social, motor, academic, and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors using approved ABA strategies.

  • Implement individualized behavior support plans using ABA techniques
  • Teach communication, social, play, motor, cognitive, and self-care skills
  • Collect accurate data on behavior and skill progress
  • Follow written treatment plans, safety procedures, and protocols
  • Use prompting, discrete trial teaching, and naturalistic teaching methods
  • Apply prevention, redirection, and trained physical intervention techniques when required
  • Support daily living and personal care routines as needed
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing supervision
  • Adapt to schedule changes and varied client needs

Who You Are / Qualifications

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds; no prior ABA experience is required. Confidential Client provides comprehensive training and supervision for candidates pursuing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (combination of relevant coursework and experience considered)
  • Previous experience in ABA, education, healthcare, human services, behavioral health, or direct support is helpful but not required
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
  • Vehicle able to transport clients in the back seat
  • Ability to travel within approximately 45 minutes of Windsor, VT as needed
  • Ability to pass required background checks and screenings
  • Physical fitness and coordination; ability to demonstrate approved prevention/redirection techniques
  • Strong communication, patience, emotional maturity, and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Flexibility to work Monday–Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.; part-time schedules may also be available

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay: $19.22–$25.43 per hour (DOE)
  • Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience: $20.61 per hour
  • Guaranteed year-round schedule of 37.5 hours/week (opportunities up to 40 hours including meetings/training)
