What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Behavior Therapists to deliver direct support to children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum. You will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or special education teacher to deliver hands-on applied behavior analysis (ABA) services.
- Implement individualized behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis techniques
- Teach communication, social, motor, play, cognitive, and self-care skills
- Support daily living and personal care routines as needed
- Reduce challenging behaviors using approved intervention strategies
- Collect accurate data on behavior, progress, and skill development
- Follow written treatment plans, protocols, and safety procedures
- Use prompting, discrete trial teaching, and naturalistic teaching strategies
- Apply prevention, redirection, and approved physical intervention procedures when properly trained
- Maintain focus and attention for extended periods and adapt to changing client needs
- Collaborate with behavior analysts, special education teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing supervision
Qualifications & Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of college coursework and relevant experience will be considered
- Previous experience in education, healthcare, human services, behavioral health, direct support, or related fields is a plus but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviors safely
- Physical fitness and coordination; ability to demonstrate approved physical prevention and redirection techniques
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
- Vehicle capable of safely transporting clients in the back seat when required
- Ability to pass a background check
- Flexibility to work Monday–Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with occasional schedule changes
- Willingness to assist with personal care routines when necessary
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a competitive hourly rate and a benefits package for eligible employees. Compensation is based on education and experience.
- Hourly pay range: $19.22–$25.43 per hour (DOE)
- Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience: $20.61 per hour
- Guaranteed year-round schedule of 37.5 hours per week, with opportunities to work up to 40 hours (including meetings and training)

Work Location & Schedule
This is an in-person role based in Burlington, VT. Behavior Therapists may deliver services in a variety of settings:
- Confidential Client clinics
- Public and private school settings
- Client homes and community environments (as assigned)
Candidates should be able to travel within approximately 45 minutes of Burlington, Vermont, and have reliable transportation.
