BAS Engineer
The BAS Engineer designs and administers Building Automation System solutions by reviewing project plans, producing design packages, programming software databases, and providing technical support during installation. This role requires expertise in BAS design and programming, CAD software, and the ability to interpret mechanical and electrical plans, ensuring system operability and quality throughout project execution.

What You’ll Do
This position supports design, programming, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS) for our confidential client in Raleigh, NC. You will:
- Review project mechanical and electrical plans, specifications, and customer requirements
- Develop BAS design packages (Sequence of Operations, Wiring Diagrams, Schematics, Bill of Materials, Schedules)
- Program and build software databases to meet system requirements
- Provide technical support to field installation teams during install and commissioning
- Perform quality checks and verify system operability before and throughout installation
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to deliver reliable BAS solutions
Who You Are / Qualifications
Minimum (Entry-level) qualifications:
- Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent (GPA requested) — degree may be offset by 4+ years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (C, C++, Java, Python, VBA, or similar)
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Positive team player with effective communication skills
Preferred / Advanced qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field (or 3+ years of BAS design/programming experience)
- BAS experience with systems such as Distech, Alerton, Delta, Tridium (function block, ladder, or text-based programming)
- Experience producing CAD deliverables (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
- Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical plans and specifications
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and to influence project outcomes
