What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and/or C++.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that power production systems.
• Debug, profile, and optimize performance and memory usage in backend components.
• Write unit, integration, and system tests; participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps) to define requirements and deliver features.
• Work with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), message queues, and caching layers to ensure reliable data flow.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring/observability practices.
• Troubleshoot incidents in production and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
• Help shape architecture and technical direction with a focus on reliability, security, and maintainability.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience building backend systems using Java and/or C++.
• Practical knowledge of designing and consuming REST APIs and microservices.
• Comfortable working on Linux-based systems and using modern development tools (Git, build tools, debuggers).
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and basic data modeling.
• Strong testing mindset (unit/integration/automated testing) and familiarity with CI/CD workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and clear communication across engineering and product teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of deliverables.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and distributed system patterns.
• Background in performance tuning, profiling, and low-latency system design.
• Experience with observability tools (prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and SRE practices.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
