Role Overview

This Availability Engineering Software Engineer role supports availability assurance and resiliency efforts for enterprise applications. You will split time between software development (full‑stack JavaScript) and operational activities (triage, incident analysis, monitoring). The work includes enhancing tools such as the Proactive Discovery Tool (PDT), improving observability, and partnering with product and support teams to drive reliability improvements across the environment.


Location & Work Model

This listing is for Atlanta, GA. The position is offered in a hybrid model; qualified candidates should expect a mix of remote and on-site work. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. immediately — Confidential Client will not sponsor work visas for this role.


What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend, frontend, and full-stack features for the PDT and other Availability Assurance applications
  • Participate in incident triage, root cause analysis, and Availability Assurance Bridge activities
  • Troubleshoot production outages and recommend recovery and long-term resiliency actions
  • Modernize applications and migrate containerized workloads to cloud-native platforms (e.g., ROSA/OpenShift)
  • Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and observability of services
  • Use monitoring and diagnostic tools to detect and analyze availability issues
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and follow testing and CI/CD best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience developing and supporting applications using JavaScript across frontend and backend
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and secure coding practices
  • Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
  • Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and security principles (ROSA, WAS, CaaS, AWS, Azure, load balancers, LDAP, proxies)
  • Experience with monitoring/diagnostic tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, and Grafana
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to diagnose complex app + infra issues
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; self-motivated and curious

Preferred / Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems, resiliency engineering, or site reliability practices
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of Linux, containers, and cloud-native application platforms
  • Experience supporting production applications at scale

Compensation & Benefits

  • Potential starting salary range: $85,000 - $125,000 (starting pay based on skills, background, and experience; high end reserved for significant relevant experience)
