What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level AV Technician role supporting commercial audiovisual system installations for a Confidential Client in the commercial interiors / interior environments space. You will learn on the job, assist senior technicians, and help deliver high-quality AV installations on a variety of commercial projects.
- Pull, terminate, label, and test AV cabling under supervision
- Assist with mounting and installing displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, racks, and control devices
- Support system setup, testing, and basic troubleshooting during installation and commissioning
- Maintain clean, organized work areas, tools, and vehicles
- Accurately document work: label cables, redline drawings, and update project notes
- Follow site safety policies and industry best practices
- Participate in training and mentorship to develop technical skills and certifications
- Interact professionally with clients, contractors, and team members
Requirements & Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in AV installation, electrical, low-voltage, or related trades (training provided for the right candidate)
- Ability to read schematics and follow technical drawings
- Basic audio tuning and troubleshooting skills; familiarity with audio consoles, power amplifiers, and digital signal processors preferred
- Cable fabrication, soldering, cable pulling, and rack fabrication experience
- Familiarity with Crestron or AMX control systems and common AV matrix/signal hardware is a plus
- Able to bench test equipment and prepare items for repair when required
- Comfortable working at heights and physically able to lift/maneuver equipment up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter, team player, and willingness to pass a background check
- Interest in pursuing industry credentials (e.g., InfoComm CTS) is a plus
- Preferred: Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree or technical school training in electronics/installation or equivalent experience
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, ladder work, and standing for extended periods
- Work on active construction sites where noise and dust may be present
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds and work safely on ladders/lifts
- Operate a motor vehicle as part of daily duties
Compensation & Growth
- Estimated pay (per source): $50,590 per year (estimated)
