Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Automation Field Engineer to work from Raleigh, NC. This is an excellent entry-level to early-career opportunity for electrical engineers who want hands-on experience with servo systems, motion control, robotics, and power-electronics in a customer-facing role. Travel is approximately 20% (including occasional overnight and international trips).
Estimated salary (from source): $47,770 per year — permanent / full-time.
Responsibilities
- Dive into and support servo, motion-control, robotics, and power-electronics products in customer settings
- Work directly with clients and sales teams to understand technical requirements and recommend solutions
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform product testing, and provide installation and validation support
- Manage customer projects in coordination with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and global teams
- Produce clear technical documentation and deliver product or application training to customers
- Identify customer needs and help surface new application or product opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Strong grasp of electrical engineering fundamentals and an interest in industrial automation
- Relevant exposure via projects, labs, internships, co-ops, or early professional experience
- Coursework or hands-on experience in power electronics, controls, robotics, motors/drives, embedded systems, or automation
- Excellent troubleshooting, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and manage multiple tasks
- Willingness and ability to travel ~20% (including occasional overnight and international travel)
- U.S. work authorization required: U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or TN-eligible candidates only (no other visa sponsorships available)
Advantageous but not required: direct experience with servo systems, motion control, industrial networks, OEMs/machine builders, or proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
