Role Overview

We’re sourcing an entry-level AutoCAD Designer to join a confidential client in the electrical utilities / engineering space in Miami, FL. This hands-on role focuses on producing accurate CAD-based distribution maps from field survey packets and supporting utility pole design mapping under close supervision.


What You’ll Do

  • Digitize field survey packets to create distribution maps showing poles and attached assets (wires, boxes, etc.).
  • Produce accurate CAD drawings and mapping deliverables for utility pole design projects.
  • Verify geographic locations and attribute information from survey data.
  • Coordinate with field teams and engineers to clarify survey details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain project files, version control, and mapping standards.
  • Learn and apply engineering drafting standards under supervision.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in math or science.
  • Reliable transportation to/from the worksite and client locations.
  • Ability to work under close supervision and follow established drafting standards.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Interest or coursework related to electrical utilities or distribution systems.

Day-to-Day

This is an entry-level engineering classification. You will be assigned to projects requiring utility pole design mapping. Using provided survey packets, you’ll identify pole locations and attached assets, then translate those into digital CAD distribution maps. Expect learning-focused supervision with opportunities to grow drafting and mapping independence.


Compensation & Location

  • Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour (as listed by the confidential client).
  • Location: Miami, FL (on-site / local travel to client sites as required).
  • Employment type: Full-time (entry-level).
