Position Overview
Auditor I - Temporary (Auditor I — Nichols Hills, OK). Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Internal Auditor to assist with financial, operational, and compliance audits. This part-time, temporary role supports audit programs, documents audit workpapers, and helps evaluate internal controls and compliance with laws, policies, and GAAP.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with planning and performing routine financial and operational audits.
- Test and document compliance with federal requirements, state statutes, departmental policies and procedures.
- Review financial records, ledgers, journals and supporting documentation.
- Evaluate internal controls and identify deficiencies; recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare audit workpapers and draft audit reports; present findings to management as needed.
- Help update audit programs, procedures and testing steps based on assessed risk.
- Communicate with staff and contractors to obtain evidence and clarify issues.
- Perform related duties as assigned. Being present at the office (Nichols Hills / Oklahoma City area) is an essential function.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (One year of paraprofessional auditing or accounting experience may substitute for one year of education.)
- Knowledge of basic auditing principles and practices, financial statements, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prepare clear audit documentation and reports.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Successful applicants will be subject to a background check.
Valued Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with auditing theories, internal controls, and compliance testing.
- Experience with accounting systems or audit software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work collaboratively on audit teams.
- Professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour (based on education and experience) — part-time, temporary assignment.
- Work schedule: Monday–Friday; primary office hours typically 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (schedule may vary).
- This is an on-site role; occasional job-related travel may be required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Office-based work in a climate-controlled environment with regular use of computers and phones.
- Tasks require prolonged sitting, reading, and preparing detailed reports.
- Must be able to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms as needed for file retrieval, meetings, and audits.
