What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Audit Staff / Audit Associate to perform high-quality audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role involves national travel for fieldwork, working both independently and on teams, and preparing clear, well-documented work papers and recommendations.

  • Complete audit testing on financial statement areas (cash, A/P, A/R, etc.) to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence.
  • Prepare concise, defensible work papers that document procedures, results, conclusions, and client recommendations.
  • Perform operational and financial audit fieldwork at client sites (national travel expected).
  • Maintain professional skepticism and apply auditing standards consistently.
  • Identify, document, and escalate risks, issues, and conclusions to senior team members as needed.
  • Take ownership of assigned audit areas from planning through closeout and review note clearance.
  • Perform inventory observations and document findings accurately.
  • Use audit-related computer systems and tools effectively during engagements.
  • Maintain at least 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) each calendar year.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and teammates; exhibit strong listening and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally for client fieldwork (approximately 40–60 nights per calendar year).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work extended hours during busy season.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to meet high-quality deliverables.

Additional Details

  • Hybrid working environment after initial onboarding; employees must work in-office for the first 6 months.
