Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Audit Data Analyst (Staff Auditor II — Entry Level) to join an internal audit team in Charlotte, NC. This role supports execution of audit data analytics, helps identify risks from data, and builds repeatable reporting and automation to inform audit conclusions. The position requires being in the Charlotte office four days per week.
What You’ll Do
- Executes data-analytics approaches to support internal audits.
- Apply data-driven techniques to identify anomalies, outliers, trends, and operational risks.
- Translate analytic results into clear, actionable recommendations for audit and business stakeholders.
- Prepare communication materials and present findings for peer review and to mid-level management.
- Locate, validate, extract, and format data from diverse systems to support testing and analysis.
- Document assumptions, methodologies, validation, and testing to support compliance and peer review.
- Build data visualizations and reporting using advanced tools to support analytics and stakeholder requests.
- Begin developing recurring reporting and automation (e.g., SQL, SAS) to support continuous risk identification.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Quantitative Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science, or similar) OR 4 years of relevant education/experience.
- 1–2 years of practical data-analytics experience, including visualization tools.
- Experience applying data analytics in audit, risk, or controls environments.
- Hands-on SQL or SAS programming experience.
- Strong ability to interpret data and identify issues from a data perspective.
- Experience communicating analytic results to peers and business partners.
- Experience building business reporting, dashboards, or operational reporting.
- Experience in data processing, database programming, or data analytics.
Nice to Have
- Military service or experience as a military spouse/domestic partner (preferred, not required).
- Exposure to audit methodology, internal controls, or risk frameworks.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and scripting for automation.
Work location, schedule & eligibility
- Location: Charlotte, NC — in-office requirement 4 days per week.

Compensation & benefits
- Salary range (provided by client): $69,920 — $133,000 per year.
