Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Audit Associate to join their Assurance team in Montpelier, VT. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience conducting financial statement audits, apply auditing standards, and grow technical accounting skills while working with clients across industries. This role is full-time and may require travel up to 20%.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct financial statement audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Apply auditing methodologies to assess financial documents and internal controls.
• Review and verify financial records for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Use data analysis to identify trends, risks, and insights that inform recommendations.
• Support application of accounting and financial reporting standards to client statements.
• Collaborate with engagement teams to address audit findings and recommend improvements.
• Document processes to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
• Communicate clearly with client contacts and support timely project delivery.
• Assist senior staff with research and technical accounting issues.
• Maintain data quality and confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Overall GPA of at least 3.0.
• Prior to starting full-time, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in the state where you will be employed.
• Entry-level candidates typically are in or finishing their final academic year and have relevant coursework or internship experience.

• Overall GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Familiarity with GAAP, accounting & financial reporting standards.
• Experience using data analysis tools or techniques to support audit work.
• Comfort leveraging AI-enabled tools or automation to increase efficiency.

• Interest in building client relationships and a long-term career in assurance.

What We Offer

• Salary range: $53,500 – $104,000 (actual pay depends on skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws).
