About the Role
Confidential Client is seeking an Audit Associate (Summer/Fall 2027 intake) to join their Assurance team in Greensboro Ndc, NC. This entry-level role focuses on performing financial statement audits, applying auditing methodologies, and supporting client engagements while you develop technical accounting skills and practical experience in a professional services environment.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct financial statement audits in compliance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
- Apply auditing methodologies to evaluate financial documents and internal controls
- Review and verify financial records for accuracy and adherence to policies and regulations
- Use data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights that support audit conclusions
- Assist in applying accounting and financial reporting standards to ensure consistent financial statements
- Document processes and audit findings to improve efficiency and quality of engagements
- Support client communication and coordinate with engagement teams to meet project timelines
- Participate in research and technical discussions to resolve complex reporting issues
- Maintain data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with independence and professional standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Accounting
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0
- Meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment prior to starting full-time
- Entry-level candidates who are completing their final academic year or have recently graduated are encouraged to apply
Preferred / Plus Factors
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Demonstrated familiarity with GAAP, auditing methodologies, and financial reporting standards
- Comfort using data analysis tools and interpreting financial data
- Interest in leveraging AI and automation to increase audit efficiency and deliver insights
- Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,500 - $104,000 (actual pay dependent on experience, qualifications, and location; complies with applicable laws)
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and personal/family sick leave — final benefits package provided by the hiring organization
Location
- Greensboro Ndc, NC — on-site role (not remote). Local candidates preferred; please ensure CPA eligibility for North Carolina (or intended state of employment) before starting full-time.
