Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Audit Associate based in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is ideal for recent accounting graduates or final-year students who want hands-on experience on financial statement audits, exposure to client engagements, and a clear path toward CPA eligibility. You will learn audit methodologies, apply professional standards, and contribute to delivering high-quality audit work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial statement audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
  • Apply auditing methodologies to assess financial documents and internal controls
  • Review and verify supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Use data analysis to identify trends and support audit conclusions
  • Participate in process documentation and testing to improve audit efficiency
  • Collaborate with engagement teams to resolve audit issues and communicate findings
  • Support project management tasks to meet timelines and deliverables
  • Maintain data quality and security for sensitive client information
  • Uphold professional and independence standards in all engagements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Accounting (or closely related field)
  • Minimum overall GPA: 3.0
  • Meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment before starting full-time
  • Entry-level / client service associate: candidates should be completing or have completed their final academic year

Preferred / Differentiators

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, accounting and financial reporting standards
  • Familiarity with audit methodologies and financial statement preparation
  • Experience or interest in using data analytics or AI tools to improve audit efficiency
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $53,500 - $104,000 per year (actual pay dependent on skills, experience, qualifications, and location)
  • Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
  • Typical benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and leave programs (benefit details depend on the hiring organization and location)
