Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a PRN (as-needed) Athletic Trainer for evening coverage in Gettysburg, PA. You will provide on-site athletic training services for high school, college and recreational teams during regular season, tournaments and post-season events. The role emphasizes injury prevention, assessment, immediate treatment (including first aid), reconditioning and rehabilitation consistent with NATA BOC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing and fitting of athletic equipment
- Implement prescribed treatments and follow team/program/event physician recommendations; communicate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain relationships with referring physicians, schools, coaches and community referral sources
- Use current clinical techniques to assess and treat athletic injuries
- Maintain BOC and CPR certification requirements
- Cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games/matches and related events; supervise on-site treatments and reconditioning programs under program coordinator/medical director supervision
- Record athletic injuries and treatments in accordance with organizational guidelines
- Assist with pre-participation examinations and monitor athlete/student progress across age groups; report status changes to care team and guardians as appropriate
- Assist physical therapists with implementation of rehabilitation plans for sports/orthopedic patients when referred

Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
- Work experience: 1 year relevant experience preferred; entry-level graduates with NATA BOC certification will be considered
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed Athletic Trainer upon hire (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire (required)
- NATA-accredited program graduate or completion of an athletic trainer internship program (required)
- Skills:
- Ability to work sensitively with patients of various ages and diagnoses
- Ability to apply athletic training practices and follow hospital, school and organizational policies/procedures

- Schedule: PRN / Evening shift; Monday–Friday evenings; weekend & holiday rotation
