Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an Athletic Trainer to support school-based athletics, orthopedic clinic work, and community wellness programming in Baresville, PA. This is a full-time role (80 hours biweekly) with day/evening coverage, weekend and holiday rotation as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide athletic training coverage for assigned high school athletics, pre-season physicals, games, and events; supervise onsite treatments and reconditioning programs under team physician and program leadership.
- Implement treatment plans prescribed by physicians; document injuries and care in accordance with Confidential Client policies and EMR requirements.
- Assist physicians and physical therapists in orthopedic and clinic settings: obtain histories, perform preliminary musculoskeletal assessments, aid with triage and imaging coordination.
- Fit and adjust durable medical equipment (braces, crutches, walkers) and assist with casts, splints, and post-operative wound care per protocols.
- Design and instruct home exercise programs and support rehabilitation plans; help transition patients to Rehabilitation services when appropriate.
- Support community wellness (WellFit) programming: initial assessments, exercise instruction (land/aquatic), supervision of gym/pool, and program outreach.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and accurate records; participate in quality improvement and safety programs.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams, coaches, schools, parents/guardians, and referral sources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field required.
- Licensed Athletic Trainer (as required by state) upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Graduate of a CAATE-accredited athletic training program or completion of an athletic trainer internship program.
- 1 year of relevant experience required; entry-level graduates with BOC certification will be considered.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical skills in athletic injury assessment and rehabilitation.
- Ability to work sensitively with patients and athletes across age groups and diagnoses.
- Familiarity with orthopedic clinic workflow and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
- Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple scheduled events (games, clinics, WellFit sessions) and respond to emergent situations.

Work Location & Schedule
- Primary work location: Baresville, PA.
