Overview

Confidential Client is seeking Athletic Trainer professionals to deliver sports medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and outreach services across clinic and community settings. This role supports high school and collegiate partners, contributes to clinical care in an outpatient setting, and may include program or regional coordination depending on level.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services in outreach settings (high schools/organizations) including injury evaluation, first aid, referrals, and return-to-play progression.
• Deliver clinic-based athletic training and rehabilitation under physician direction: assess functional status, plan and implement treatment programs, and document patient progress.
• Educate athletes, coaches, families, and student athletic trainers on injury prevention, conditioning, and safe procedures.
• Assist with hospital mobility, transfers, and basic patient support under nursing direction when needed.
• Maintain inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure accurate medical record documentation.
• Support departmental programs: attend meetings, participate in continuing education, assist Ortho Sports MDs with documentation and patient education, and contribute to performance or workplace health programs.
• For Band III/Senior levels: lead or coordinate sub-programs or satellite sites, mentor and precept newer staff, participate in committees (safety, quality, operations), and perform limited administrative duties (approx. 10%).

Career Bands / Expected Experience

• Band I — Entry level; requires orientation and direct supervision. Focus: clinical care/outreach.
• Band II — Operates with minimal supervision; may precept students. Typically requires ≥18 months of relevant outpatient orthopedic/athletic training experience.
• Band III — Program or regional coordination responsibilities; typically requires ≥4 years of relevant experience (1 year with Confidential Client preferred).
• Senior — Management/oversight responsibilities beyond Band III; typically requires ≥6 years of relevant experience (2 years with Confidential Client preferred).

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) upon hire.
• New York State licensure as an Athletic Trainer upon hire (or other state licensure where applicable) — must maintain active licensure as required.
• CPR certification upon hire.
• Ability to render emergency care when needed.
• Internship route certification in Athletic Training or equivalent experience acceptable.

Schedule & Compensation

• Employment type: Full-time (Contractor status may apply depending on engagement model).
• Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
• Compensation range (provided by Confidential Client): $26.25 - $35.44 per hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, education, internal equity, and other legitimate factors.
