Role Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an Assistant Designer to support seasonal collections on a short-term, hybrid assignment based in Reynoldsburg, OH. This is a 3-month contract (hybrid) paying $42.14 per hour. The Assistant Designer will work with design, technical, and production partners to help deliver commercially viable product across intimates and related categories.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the design team in creating brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the collection direction and business goals.
- Produce design sketches, flat sketches and CAD images for review.
- Deliver clear construction specs and sample annotations for production and technical partners.
- Build and maintain the sample room and track development samples through handoff.
- Coordinate line presentation boards, mood boards and product samples for routine and milestone meetings.
- Support fittings with technical design and follow up on prototype execution.
- Communicate development status to internal partners (Production, Tech, Merchandising) and vendors.
- Incorporate feedback and iterate designs to finalization.
- Source trend inspiration, competitor research, and relevant materials.
- Seek process improvements to increase speed and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion design or equivalent experience, or demonstrable retail design experience.
- Entry-level to early-career designer with relevant experience in a comparable retail environment.
- Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign; Centric experience is a plus.
- Strong commercial fashion eye with attention to product styling and performance detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple development samples and deadlines.
- Clear communication and presentation skills; able to prepare and present boards.
- Comfortable working collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Flexible, creative problem-solver with professionalism and accountability.
Logistics & Compensation

- Duration: 3 months (temporary/contract)
- Pay: $42.14 per hour
- Work authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
