Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate UX/UI Designer to help craft intuitive, accessible, and brand-elevating digital shopping experiences across web and mobile. You will work within a cross-functional product team alongside Product Management, Engineering, Research, and Creative to move ideas from discovery through design, prototyping, testing, and implementation. This role values strong visual craft, user-centered thinking, and practical experience using Figma and modern design systems — plus an interest in using AI-powered tools to speed ideation and prototyping.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to end-to-end product design: discovery, wireframing, high-fidelity UI, and interactive prototyping for web and mobile.
  • Create clear user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mocks, and clickable prototypes that communicate design intent.
  • Use Figma to design, prototype, and maintain scalable components aligned to the design system.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and stakeholders to define requirements and solve UX problems.
  • Run or participate in workshops, design critiques, and usability testing to validate design decisions.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams with clarity and confidence.
  • Ensure solutions meet accessibility, responsiveness, usability, and brand standards.
  • Support the evolution and adoption of reusable components and platform patterns.
  • Leverage AI-assisted design tools to accelerate ideation, research, content generation, and prototyping.
  • Produce detailed design specifications and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure quality implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in UX, UI, product design, or related digital design roles.
  • Strong portfolio showing user-centered design thinking, interaction design, and visual design excellence.
  • Proficiency in Figma (components, Auto Layout, design systems, interactive prototyping).
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, information architecture, and responsive design.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices for digital products.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills; ability to present design trade-offs and decisions.
  • Experience in Agile or product-led environments is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, responsive development) is preferred.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and AI-powered design tools; highly collaborative and adaptable.

Compensation & location

  • Salary range: $69,850 - $125,525 annually (listed range reflects the expected compensation for this position in New York, NY).
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Location: New York, NY — candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Confidential Client provides competitive benefits; details will be shared during the interview process.

What we value

  • User-centered problem solving and strong visual craft.
  • Collaboration with product and engineering to deliver high-quality experiences.
  • Continuous learning, iteration, and pragmatic use of emerging tools (including AI-assisted workflows).
  • Attention to accessibility, performance, and scalable design systems.
