Role Overview
This Associate UX Designer role supports product-focused teams at a confidential client in the Information Services industry. This is an early-career, full-time opportunity to grow your UX skills by assisting on research, interaction design, and prototyping across web-based software products. You will work closely with senior UX Designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver user-centered solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Assist project teams through the product development lifecycle to create well-crafted web-based experiences.
- Support and help conduct user research activities (interviews, surveys, usability tests, competitive analysis).
- Analyze research and analytics data and translate findings into actionable design insights.
- Create wireframes, interaction flows, and prototypes (low- to high-fidelity) to communicate design concepts.
- Present design ideas and iterate based on stakeholder and usability feedback.
- Produce design artifacts such as personas, site maps, workflow diagrams, mockups, and engineering-ready assets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project goals and design system standards.
- Contribute to design reviews and help justify design decisions using user-centered methodologies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating visual design skill and understanding of user-centered design.
- Foundational knowledge of UX research methods and usability testing (problem framing, interviewing, ideation, iteration, measuring success).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to explain process and outcomes to varied audiences.
- Openness to feedback and a collaborative mindset.
- Proactive, curious, and committed to continuous learning.
Tools & Technologies
- Experience or familiarity with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, FigJam, Adobe Creative Suite, and usability/research tools (Optimal Workshop, UserInterview, etc.).
- Comfortable producing assets for handoff to engineers and working with design systems.
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to sit and operate a computer/phone for extended periods.
- Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends and attend in-office events as needed.
- Regular attendance at the office in Austin, TX is expected.
