Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate in Personal Risk Services (Underwriting) for a cohort-based, entry-level underwriting program starting February 2027. This two-year Associate Program combines technical training, cohort-based learning and hands-on underwriting assignments designed to accelerate career development in insurance underwriting for high-net-worth personal lines.


What You’ll Do

  • Use underwriting tools and data to evaluate personal risk exposures (homes, specialty personal property, vehicles, etc.).
  • Assess and document risks, preparing clear underwriting recommendations.
  • Work on team assignments within a cohort and contribute to group deliverables.
  • Participate in technical training, development workshops and executive engagement opportunities.
  • Receive mentoring from managers and former Associates; apply feedback to improve underwriting judgment.
  • Communicate clearly with internal partners (brokers, claims, risk engineers) and maintain professional documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (all majors considered).
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based sponsorship (sponsorship not available).
  • Preferred: prior work experience (internships, summer jobs, part-time roles) and demonstrated leadership (campus organizations, athletics, volunteer service).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $60,000 to $75,000 per year (final offer depends on skills and experience). This role may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program.
