Position summary
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an Associate Systems Engineer in Woodland Hills, CA to support an enterprise-wide digital transformation using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), DevSecOps, and Agile practices. This early-career role is a hands-on systems position supporting design, integration, verification, and lifecycle analysis of complex hardware/software systems.
What You’ll Do
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification & validation, cost and risk, and supportability/effectiveness analyses across total systems.
- Analyze system behavior across lifecycle phases: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Translate customer and product requirements into total systems solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to produce clear hardware and software specifications.
- Contribute to MBSE activities and documentation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) plus 2+ years of relevant experience — OR Master’s degree in STEM with 0+ years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Ability to document and manage system requirements (experience with DOORS or equivalent preferred).
- Demonstrated team leadership and clear written/verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in team-oriented, Agile/DevSecOps environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with programs or projects in production phase.
- Experience developing products for space or ruggedized environments.
- Requirement development and management using MBSE tools and workflows.
- Familiarity with inertial measurement sensors and systems.
- Data analysis skills using MATLAB or similar tools.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $76,200 - $114,400 per year (range provided by the client).
- Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and other incentives where applicable.

- Location: Woodland Hills, CA (onsite expectations per role).

- Travel: Approximately 10% travel may be required.
