Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Systems Engineer to support Mission Architecture & Systems Engineering (MASE) activities in support of spacecraft, ground systems, and mission operations programs. This early-career position is ideal for a highly organized, technically curious engineer who wants to build a strong systems engineering foundation while enabling multiple development programs.

To be eligible for this position, you must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer and maintain systems engineering artifacts across programs (requirements, models, design artifacts, verification evidence).
  • Maintain traceability across requirements, models, and verification artifacts.
  • Enforce and support processes, standards, and best practices for configuration and lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate with systems engineers and technical leads across disciplines to ensure data consistency and technical accuracy.
  • Support requirements decomposition, allocation, and verification traceability activities.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and configuration-controlled repositories.
  • Support MBSE-related tasks and SysML model organization under guidance from systems engineers.
  • Help collect and organize verification evidence and maintain baselines during integration and test.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and toolchain workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 1–3 years of professional engineering experience or relevant internship/co-op experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of systems engineering principles and the system development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with requirements management concepts (decomposition, allocation, verification, traceability).
  • Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and SysML.
  • Experience using engineering documentation, configuration-controlled repositories, or technical data management tools (academic or professional).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment with multiple concurrent development efforts.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines while maintaining technical accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with requirements management tools (IBM DOORS Next, Jama Connect, Polarion, or similar).
  • Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Ansys tool suite and STK.
  • Understanding of configuration management and engineering change processes.
  • Experience planning or supporting requirements verification and validation.
  • Experience organizing technical documentation and maintaining engineering baselines.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering methodologies and lifecycle traceability.
  • Exposure to spacecraft, satellite payloads, ground systems, or mission operations.
  • Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering standards (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, INCOSE practices, NASA Systems Engineering Handbook).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and support multiple technical teams quickly.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Colorado base pay range for this position: $86,000.00 - $115,000.00 - $126,500.00 annually. Final offers will be based on experience, qualifications, skills, and market/location.
