Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to support lab-based testing and development work in Tucson, AZ. This is a W2 contract role (approximately 12 months with possible extensions) focused on electro-mechanical device testing, data collection, and supporting system design/testing efforts. Ideal for entry-level engineers or recent grads with 0–3 years of experience in engineering or related technical work.
What You’ll Do
You will support lab activities and participate in systems-engineering tasks across development and testing phases.
- Run lab protocols and conduct functional and reliability tests on electro-mechanical devices
- Collect, record, and analyze test data to evaluate new development models
- Support design concept generation and participate in design reviews
- Develop and test systems against design specifications
- Assist in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and process improvement
- Work within defined procedures and exercise judgment on routine technical issues
- Present and discuss test data with engineering teams
- Monitor work quality and promote “Quality First Time”
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, mechanical, chemical, biomedical engineering, or a related field
- 0–3 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates encouraged)
- Familiarity with basic and some specialized engineering techniques
- Ability to follow written instructions and detailed procedures
- Comfortable using word processors, spreadsheets, graphical, and presentation tools
- Experience or familiarity searching technical literature
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electro-mechanical devices or lab test environments
- Internship or hands-on experience in the medical or manufacturing segment
- Energetic, inquisitive, and hands-on approach; strong attention to detail
Compensation & Duration
- Employment type: W2 CONTRACT (Contractor) — approximately 12 months, possible extension
- Estimated base pay: $84,911 per year (estimated)
- Location: Tucson, AZ — on-site lab work required
- Note: W2 only — C2C and C2H will not be considered
