Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Systems Engineer — Integration & Test to join an engineering team in Pico Heights, CA. This early-career/full-time role supports system-level integration, test planning, execution, and analysis for mission-critical systems. The position requires strong test discipline, scripting or programming skills, and the ability to work onsite in Pico Heights.


What You’ll Do

  • Synthesize customer contractual needs and system requirements into executable test solutions that balance technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive system test plans, procedures, and schedules.
  • Design formal qualification strategies for new system designs; document using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and DOORS.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts to run test campaigns and integrate with hardware interfaces.
  • Coordinate integrated test activities across teams and facilities; manage test facility interfaces and data integrity.
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure traceability, verification, and completeness of the test program.
  • Perform system-level technical analysis and generate comprehensive evaluations and test reports.
  • Lead or support formal technical reviews such as Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Analyze navigation systems and mission computer performance using MATLAB or similar tools.
  • Serve as the primary technical point-of-contact during test events; manage customer expectations and report results.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university (or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline).
  • Experience or familiarity authoring test procedures, executing tests, diagnostics, and maintaining data integrity and cataloging.
  • Experience with requirement decomposition, traceability, and formal verification methods.
  • Experience creating automated test scripts and integrating them with hardware interfaces.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting environment: MATLAB, C, C++, C#, and/or Python.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple, shifting priorities while maintaining safety standards.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret-level security clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Pico Heights, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Government Secret-level clearance.
  • Previous experience in system-level test efforts within dynamic program environments.
  • Familiarity with automated test frameworks and test data analysis workflows.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range (Level 1): $76,200 - $114,400 per year. This range is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.
  • Total compensation may include overtime eligibility, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and other program-specific incentives.
  • Typical benefits may include health insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and company-observed holidays. Specific benefits and eligibility are determined by our client and the role offered.

Location, Travel & Clearance

  • Work location: Onsite full-time in Pico Heights, CA.
  • Travel: Approximately 10% of the time.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret-level clearance is required; active clearance is preferred.
