What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an early-career Systems Engineer to support modernization and sustainment of a global Satellite Communications Network (SCN). You will work with multidisciplinary teams through the full system life cycle—requirements, integration, test, deployment, and field support.
- Support the development, analysis, and management of system requirements for communications and infrastructure modernization projects
- Assist with system design and evaluate subsystem interfaces across hardware, software, and network components
- Participate in system integration, verification, validation, and acceptance testing
- Develop and execute test procedures; document results and help resolve technical issues
- Assist with implementation planning and field deployment activities at operational SCN sites worldwide
- Prepare technical documentation: engineering reports, test plans, interface documentation, and presentations
- Analyze technical data and system performance metrics to support engineering recommendations
- Coordinate with software, network, cybersecurity, and hardware engineering teams
- Support technical reviews, project meetings, and customer engagements
- Travel domestically and internationally to support installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities
What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, system integration, and technical problem solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20–50% to support field implementations and testing
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems
- Coursework or experience with Software Defined Radios (SDRs)
- Knowledge of communications systems or satellite communications
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics and space-based system concepts
- Basic programming experience (Python, C/C++, Java, or similar)
- Understanding of computer networking concepts and protocols
- Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure system design
- Experience supporting lab testing, system integration, or engineering projects (academic, internship, or professional)
- Familiarity with requirements management, test documentation, and systems engineering lifecycle processes
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary (Colorado): $75,000 – $85,000 per year. Offered rate will be based on candidate experience, skills, and internal parity.
- Additional compensation may include bonuses, sign‑on or relocation benefits, short/long term incentives, or discretionary payments per internal policy.
