Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer (entry-level) to join a Systems and Operations team that applies both Traditional Systems Engineering (TSE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across the system lifecycle. You will help translate mission needs into technical concepts, develop system architectures and requirements, support integration and verification activities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-focused engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Apply Traditional Systems Engineering (TSE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across the system development lifecycle.
• Translate mission needs, operational constraints, and capability gaps into system concepts and technical solutions.
• Develop and refine system architectures, requirements, interfaces, data flows, and integration dependencies.
• Support integration, testing, verification, validation, deployment planning, and technical transition activities.
• Produce technical documentation, engineering analyses, and clear presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in technical reviews, and support trade studies and risk analyses.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related degree.
• Typically requires less than 1 year of related professional experience, internship experience, or relevant academic projects.
• Familiarity with system design, architecture modeling, requirements development, interface analysis, integration planning, verification & validation, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of both MBSE and traditional systems engineering techniques (requirements analysis, functional decomposition, interface control, trade studies, risk analysis).
• Strong interest in solving complex, multidisciplinary engineering problems and willingness to learn new tools and methods.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance.
• Ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week in Bedford, MA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active security clearance (preferred).
• Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Exposure to MBSE, SysML, or tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Sparx EA through coursework or projects.
• Experience with system architectures, interface modeling, or system integration and test planning.
• Interest or exposure to digital engineering, cloud computing, data platforms, cybersecurity, communications/networking, or artificial intelligence.
• Familiarity with federal acquisition processes and transitioning technologies into operational use.

Compensation & Work Location

• Employment type: FULL_TIME
• Work location: Bedford, MA (Onsite; minimum 3 days per week)
• Salary range: $77,600 - $116,400 per year (midpoint $97,000) — provided by Confidential Client
• This role requires U.S. citizenship due to security clearance eligibility.
