What You’ll Do

This is an early-career Associate Software Engineer / Associate Data Engineer role focused on building and maintaining reliable data pipelines and data infrastructure. You will:

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines to move and transform data from multiple sources
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data processing and reporting
  • Implement data ingestion, validation, and quality checks
  • Support relational and cloud-based databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
  • Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data issues
  • Document data flows, technical designs, and operational runbooks
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders
  • Follow data security, governance, and quality best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–4 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Working knowledge of Python for data tasks and scripting
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline patterns
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and basic dimensional modeling
  • Good analytical/problem-solving skills and clear communication
  • Comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams
  • Willingness to relocate to Washington (WA) if required

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with orchestration and streaming tools (Apache Airflow, Spark, Kafka)
  • Experience or exposure to dbt and modern analytics engineering practices
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and automated testing
  • Knowledge of common data formats and APIs (JSON, CSV, REST)

Compensation & Logistics

  • Hourly pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour (USD)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Location: Washington (WA), United States — relocation expected or required in some cases
