What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking entry-level Associate Software Engineers / Data Engineers / Data Scientists to join their IT teams in Jersey City, NJ. In this role you will contribute to building and maintaining data pipelines, analytics platforms, and backend systems — with an emphasis on Snowflake, SQL, and modern cloud tooling.

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using Snowflake and SQL
• Develop backend or data-processing code in Python or Java
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product stakeholders to turn requirements into reliable systems
• Help build and support CI/CD workflows, containerized services (Docker), and cloud deployments
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and implement fixes in pipelines or transformations
• Contribute to technical design documents, code reviews, and team knowledge-sharing
• Participate in interview and training programs to continuously modernize technical skills

What We’re Looking For

Minimum qualifications (entry-to-early level):

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or equivalent practical experience
• 0–2 years of software development or data engineering experience (internships, projects, or coursework count)
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational data modeling
• Practical experience with Python or Java
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic CI/CD concepts
• Good problem-solving skills and clear written/verbal communication

Preferred / nice-to-have:

• Experience with Snowflake (warehouse design, SQL optimization, Snowflake features)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks, data orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, etc.)
• Basic containerization (Docker) and an understanding of microservices
• Coursework or projects in data structures & algorithms, statistics, or ML fundamentals

Compensation & Employment Type

• Employment type: Full-time
• Base salary: $78,000 - $136,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client)
• Benefits and other compensation details vary by client and will be provided during the interview or offer stage. Typical offerings may include health insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, and professional development support.
