What You’ll Do

This Associate Software Engineer will contribute to software development for diagnostic and laboratory instruments. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, test, and maintain software that supports device connectivity, monitoring, and remote support features. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain software using C++ and other modern languages.
  • Support software across embedded, desktop, web, and mobile platforms.
  • Assist with software design, coding, testing, verification, and validation activities.
  • Help create and refine software requirements and detailed design specifications.
  • Evaluate software designs through testing and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver project objectives.
  • Follow established coding standards, development processes, and regulatory (e.g., FDA) requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical problems.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), relevant software certification, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of software development experience (this can include programming-heavy coursework, school projects, freelance work, or professional experience).
  • Experience programming in C++ or equivalent modern programming languages.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with software development principles and life-cycle practices for regulated products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working within defined processes and development standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and strong teamwork skills.
  • Interest in developing software for regulated medical device products.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $50,700 – $101,300 (USD, annual). Actual pay may vary by location and experience consistent with applicable laws.
  • Comprehensive benefits may include medical coverage, retirement savings with employer contribution, tuition/education assistance, and career development programs.

Location & Work Type

  • Onsite — Irving, TX (Core Labs / diagnostic software teams).
  • Employment Type: Full-time.
