What You’ll Do

This entry-level engineering role contributes to the design, implementation, testing, and support of clinical software products at our confidential client. Work is assigned and mentored by experienced engineers to build production experience in regulated systems and cross‑functional product delivery.

• Implement well-scoped features, bug fixes, and technical improvements with guidance from senior engineers
• Write clear, testable, documented code suitable for a regulated production environment
• Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as part of feature delivery
• Participate in code review: submit changes, respond to feedback, and review peers at a level appropriate to experience
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
• Turn repeated manual steps into scripted automation with senior guidance
• Document work in design notes, runbooks, and knowledge‑base articles
• Instrument and monitor production software, join incident reviews, and take part in root‑cause analysis
• Learn and follow SOX and FDA-aligned change-control practices; produce required evidence and documentation for assigned work
• Use AI-first workflows (AI coding assistants and automated test generation) under review and mentorship

Minimum (Required) Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field — or equivalent practical experience
• 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience (relevant internships, co‑ops, research, or substantial project work count)
• Foundational proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (examples used across the portfolio include Java, TypeScript, or server-side JavaScript)
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices from academic, internship, or project work
• Comfort with source control, automated testing, and collaborative code review
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems, communicate clearly, and incorporate feedback
• Hands-on use of AI coding assistants in coursework, internships, or projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, co-op, research, or team project experience building and testing software
• Familiarity with web applications, APIs, relational or document databases, and cloud concepts
• Experience writing unit, integration, or end-to-end automated tests
• Exposure to agile delivery practices and common CI/CD tooling
• Interest in healthcare, clinical laboratory, diagnostics, or life sciences software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Work Model & Location

• This role is based in Irving, TX (Dallas–Fort Worth). The position is on-site/hybrid with a minimum expectation of three days per week on campus to collaborate with lab and clinical operations.
• Periodic travel to other sites or partner locations may be required.
• After-hours support or participation in scheduled on-call activities may be required as skills and experience develop; these activities will be performed with guidance from senior engineers.
