What You’ll Do

As an Associate Software Engineer with our confidential client you will help build and maintain reliable software that enables intelligent banking solutions. You’ll take ownership of assigned stories, bug fixes, and technical tasks and work closely with engineers, architects, QA, product, and support to deliver well-tested, maintainable results.

  • Implement modular, maintainable code based on technical designs and sprint stories
  • Maintain existing product lines through enhancements, bug fixes, and optimizations
  • Create and update unit and integration tests; investigate defects and escalate risks early
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives)
  • Communicate progress and clarify requirements with technical and non-technical partners
  • Assist second-level support investigations and contribute to root-cause resolution
  • Keep technical documentation up to date and share knowledge across the team

  • Demonstrate steady growth in software development practices and system familiarity
  • Contribute constructively to code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and cross-functional discussions
  • Troubleshoot issues resourcefully and communicate risks early
  • Maintain tests and documentation to support reliable customer-facing systems

Requirements

Necessary qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 0–2 years of professional experience building, maintaining, or troubleshooting production software
  • Working knowledge of Java, PHP, MySQL, and Python
  • Experience using Git for source control, branching, and collaborative development
  • Foundational understanding of object-oriented programming, SDLC, and Agile practices
  • Basic knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
  • Ability to follow technical design documents and implement code from written stories
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail under time-sensitive conditions
  • Clear communication skills and eagerness to learn, receive feedback, and collaborate

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with JavaScript
  • Exposure to AWS services and cloud-based application environments
  • Experience using Jira for work tracking and team collaboration
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and automated delivery pipelines

Pay, Benefits & Total Rewards

  • $82,000–$97,000 per year (range reflects the minimum and maximum for this role; individual compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity)
