What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Associate Software Engineer to support the Billing Platform team. In this entry-level engineering role you will contribute to building, testing, and documenting software that runs in scalable, highly available environments. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams and follow established practices to deliver production-ready components.
- Develop and implement software solutions that satisfy business and customer requirements for the billing platform
- Work on microservices and other distributed components to support scalability and availability
- Write, maintain, and update technical documentation, design notes, and business requirements
- Implement and run automated tests; participate in code reviews and CI/CD workflows
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver features and troubleshoot production issues
- Research and propose improvements using current and emerging technologies (virtualization, big data platforms, software-defined networking where applicable)
- Follow defined processes and complete routine technical assignments under guidance from senior engineers
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support ad-hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred)
- Less than 2 years of technical engineering experience is acceptable for this level (entry-level)
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred / helpful:
- Internship or project experience building backend services, APIs, or billing-related systems
- Hands-on experience with microservices, virtualization, or big data platforms
- Familiarity with source control (Git), build systems, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical thinking and basic analytics skills
- Experience producing business requirements documentation and technical writing

Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range (national): $66,900 - $120,600 per year
- Total target cash opportunity (base + incentive): $73,590 - $132,660 per year
Actual starting pay will be based on factors including location, experience, and qualifications. Confidential Client offers a comprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, paid time off, employee stock opportunities, and development programs).
