Position overview
Confidential Client's cybersecurity practice is hiring an Associate Security Consultant to join an entry-level consulting team. You will work on real client engagements across areas such as Identity & Access Management (IAM), Cloud Security, Threat Management, Security Operations (SOC), Data & Application Security, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC). This role blends hands-on technical work, client collaboration, and professional development.
What You’ll Do
- Work on client engagements to help design, implement, and validate security solutions that protect applications, systems, and data.
- Gather business and technical requirements with client teams and contribute to solution design and delivery.
- Support Enterprise-wide Access Management efforts: authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle, and secure access processes.
- Assist with security architecture, cloud security, application security, monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
- Use and integrate modern cybersecurity platforms, automation tools, and AI-enhanced security operations technologies.
- Document technical findings, prepare recommendations, and communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Travel to client sites as required (willingness to travel up to 100%).
What We're Looking For (required)
- Familiarity with network architecture and network security principles, authentication/authorization methods, and encryption protocols.
- Exposure to one or more cybersecurity domains: Threat Management, Security Operations, Data & Application Security, Identity & Access Management, Cloud & Infrastructure Security, or GRC.
- Working knowledge of programming or scripting (Python, C/C++, Go/Golang, Bash, or C#) and exposure to automation, testing, or secure development practices.
- Experience with or exposure to security tools: vulnerability scanners, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and monitoring platforms.
- Understanding of security operations concepts, threat detection, and incident response workflows.
- Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and consulting methods.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, MIS, or related field (preferred).
- Familiarity with enterprise security platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel/Defender, CrowdStrike, Splunk, Palo Alto XSIAM, or Google SecOps.
- Industry certifications or coursework (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or relevant cloud/security certifications) are a plus.
- Knowledge of secure application development, mobile security, or identity/authentication solutions.
Compensation & logistics
- Estimated base salary: $91,300 per year (estimated).
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Willingness to travel up to 100%.
- Location: Highland Park, TX (on-site and client-facing assignments as required).
