Associate Scrum Master / Agile Project Coordinator
The Associate Scrum Master / Agile Project Coordinator supports delivery coordination across three software integration teams by facilitating agile ceremonies, managing Jira backlogs, and tracking cross-team dependencies. This role provides project leadership with visibility into progress while coaching teams on Scrum and Kanban practices to ensure efficient and continuous delivery improvement in a secure, government-related environment.

Responsibilities
This role supports delivery across three software-integration teams (Front End Integration, Backend Integration, and Data). You will facilitate agile ceremonies, maintain the shared Jira operating rhythm, improve backlog quality, track cross-team dependencies, and provide reliable visibility into delivery progress.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and cross-team dependency meetings
- Administer the shared Jira backlog and sprint structure for all three teams
- Ensure stories and tasks include clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, estimates, ownership, team assignments, and dependency links
- Help team leads translate milestones and deliverables into appropriately sized sprint work
- Monitor sprint commitments, blockers, aging work, scope changes, and delivery risks
- Escalate unresolved blockers and cross-team dependencies to the appropriate project or technical leader
- Maintain Jira dashboards and provide concise reporting on velocity, throughput, burndown, blocked work, and milestone progress
- Keep Jira execution data aligned with program-level planning and reporting tools
- Maintain action, decision, risk, and dependency records as assigned
- Coach team members on practical Scrum and Kanban practices and encourage continuous improvement
- Support release, demonstration, authorization, and stakeholder-readiness activities
- Follow applicable government security, access, and information-handling requirements
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in Agile delivery support roles (Agile Coordinator, Scrum Master, Project Coordinator, Business Analyst, or similar)
- Practical experience using Jira to manage backlogs, sprints, workflows, dashboards, and reports
- Working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, user stories, acceptance criteria, estimation, and dependency management
- Strong meeting-facilitation, organizational, written-communication, and follow-up skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams without relying on formal authority
- Ability to identify delivery problems, communicate them clearly, and drive issues toward resolution
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship and ability to satisfy any required customer-access or clearance requirements (candidate must be able to obtain required security clearance)
Preferred Qualifications
- PSM I, Certified ScrumMaster, or comparable entry-level agile certification
- Experience supporting software development, systems integration, data, or DevSecOps teams
- Experience with government or Department of Defense programs
- Familiarity with Confluence, Airtable, release planning, and risk tracking
Measures of Success
Within the first 30 days you will:
- Establish a consistent ceremony schedule across all three teams
- Keep sprint and backlog information accurate and current
- Ensure planned work meets an agreed definition of ready
- Make cross-team dependencies and blockers visible before they affect milestones
- Provide dependable sprint and milestone reporting to project leadership
- Help the teams complete at least two retrospectives with documented improvement actions
