Role Summary

This is an on-site, full-time Associate Scientist II — Quality Control, Microbiology position supporting a Confidential Client in Madison, WI. This is an entry-level laboratory role where you will be trained on technical cGMP procedures and expected to execute testing and documentation consistently, accurately, and in compliance with quality systems.

  • Work schedule: Sunday–Tuesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • 100% on-site in Madison, WI
  • Employment type: Full time

What You’ll Do

You will perform routine to moderately complex microbiology and QC tasks under cGMP conditions and maintain accurate records.

  • Execute and document cGMP Quality Control testing with minimal supervision
  • Operate basic and moderately complex QC equipment; follow SOPs
  • Review analytical data for accuracy and consistency with SOPs
  • Enter results and records into LIMS and laboratory reports
  • Initiate records in quality systems (e.g., Trackwise) as needed
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain general lab housekeeping and 5S standards
  • Participate in team meetings and training
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

The role is suitable for candidates with laboratory training and industry experience. Education and experience options:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related life sciences + minimum 1 year industry experience
  • OR Associate degree in a related field + minimum 4 years industry experience
  • OR High School diploma / equivalent + minimum 6 years industry experience

Core skills and expectations:

  • Basic laboratory skills (micropipettes, basic lab equipment)
  • Ability to follow SOPs and demonstrate good documentation practices (GDP)
  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom and use aseptic technique (preferred)
  • Ability to learn, follow cGMP, GLP, or related quality systems
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability in data entry and recordkeeping

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with analytical chemistry fundamentals and simple analytical instruments
  • Experience with LIMS data entry and basic LIMS workflows
  • Prior exposure to Trackwise or similar quality management systems
  • Experience working in a regulated biotech or pharmaceutical environment
