Position Summary

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Scientist I to join their pharmaceutical quality-control laboratory in High Point, NC. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related physical science who wants hands-on experience with analytical testing and GMP-compliant quality processes.

What You’ll Do

• Perform routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging components, finished products, and stability samples.
• Execute validated analytical methods including HPLC, GC, LC/MS, dissolution, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry techniques.
• Test materials for strength, identity, impurities, dissolution, and other quality attributes.
• Recognize and report out-of-specification (OOS) results and unexpected findings to the QC team.
• Perform daily instrument calibrations, verifications, and routine maintenance.
• Accurately record observations, test results, and analytical data per SOPs and data integrity requirements.
• Support regulatory documentation, assist with SOP updates, and communicate with internal stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and compliant laboratory work areas and follow GMP/GLP and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related physical science required.
• Previous laboratory experience is a plus but not required for motivated entry-level candidates.
• Familiarity or coursework with HPLC, GC, LC/MS, spectroscopy, or dissolution testing is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of analytical chemistry and quantitative/qualitative laboratory testing.
• Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and ability to follow technical procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform required mathematical calculations and interpret laboratory data.
• Interest in pharmaceutical quality systems and regulatory compliance is preferred.

Physical Requirements & PPE

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; periodically bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to lift and move materials approximately 10–35 pounds.
• Repetitive hand and finger movements required for laboratory tasks.
• Required PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, laboratory coat, protective gloves, safety apron, and occasional use of an organic respirator.
• Must follow all safety, GMP, and GLP requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $20.00 per hour.
• Benefit offerings may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary benefits, EAP, commuter benefits, and a 401(k) plan where eligible.
• Paid leave (sick leave, federal/state/local leaves) and holiday pay where applicable.
