Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Scientist, Flow Cytometry to join their regulated laboratory in Santa Clarita, CA. This part-time role focuses on hands-on flow cytometry testing, producing high-quality analytical data, and supporting continuous improvement across lab operations. The position requires adherence to GLP and other regulatory standards and includes routine LIMS data entry and equipment maintenance responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform flow cytometry testing and analytical procedures following SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze and verify data; escalate atypical or out‑of‑tolerance results to senior staff.
• Prepare and upload analytical data into LIMS under senior guidance.
• Support quality investigations, deviations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Prepare buffers, reagents, and solutions required for laboratory workflows.
• Perform and document calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lab equipment.
• Train and guide entry‑level staff on routine procedures and onboarding tasks.
• Communicate clearly with cross‑functional teams and participate in assigned project work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a biological, chemical, or related scientific field; Master’s preferred. Other equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Hands‑on flow cytometry experience preferred.
• Experience in a regulated laboratory environment (GLP/GMP) preferred.
• Proficiency with core lab techniques (pipetting, reagent preparation, analytical calculations).
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with LIMS is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of GLP, laboratory safety, infection control, hazardous chemical handling, and standard lab practices.
• Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment and follow detailed SOPs.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to multitask and collaborate effectively.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional interaction.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting.
• Close visual work for computer tasks and reading small print.
• Occasional exposure to cold temperatures and routine lab hazards; proper PPE and training provided.

Compensation & Schedule

• Potential base pay range (annualized): $41,400 - $86,100. Actual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, location, and schedule. This is a part‑time position.
• Dependent on the role offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be available in addition to benefits.
