Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Associate ROCC Operator to join a Renewable Operations Control Center (ROCC) team. This role focuses on real-time monitoring, troubleshooting and restoration of renewable generation assets (wind, solar, battery storage). The position provides hands-on SCADA and control-platform experience, structured career progression, and training toward operator and engineering roles.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor renewable generation assets (wind, solar, battery storage) using SCADA and related control systems.
- Respond promptly to alarms and alerts to maintain system reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Execute restoration procedures and assist in diagnosis and troubleshooting of off‑normal events.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, incident documentation, and adherence to NERC and internal requirements.
- Coordinate with field technicians, engineering teams, market operations, and external grid operators as required.
- Participate in outage planning, high‑voltage switching orders, and initial emergency responses for safety, cyber, or environmental events.
- Support onboarding of new sites and monitoring during construction or commissioning activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in power generation, renewable energy, or a related technical area (internships/coursework acceptable).
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety practices.
- Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, remote operations control centers, or renewable energy technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is a plus.
Location & Schedule
- Authoritative location: North Palm Beach, FL (role supports remote/telecommute operations).
- This position is TELECOMMUTE-capable but requires rotating shift coverage and coordination with local teams and external operators as needed.
