What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Associate Roadway Engineer role supporting roadway design and transportation projects for a confidential client. You will work under the supervision of licensed engineers, learn company standards, and contribute to design, modeling, and reporting tasks across highway, expressway, arterial, and local roadway projects.

  • Work under supervision to analyze and prepare roadway designs, calculations, and drawings using DOT and local-jurisdiction criteria
  • Develop 3D roadway models using Corridor Modeling in OpenRoads / OpenRoads Designer
  • Prepare engineering reports, contract documents, and design deliverables for review by a licensed engineer
  • Help coordinate tasks with technicians and designers; track progress to meet project schedules
  • Present design solutions in internal meetings and support external project presentations as needed
  • Communicate effectively across design teams and project stakeholders
  • Complete time sheets, expense reports, and other administrative requirements on schedule
  • Own your professional development—seek feedback, learn new skills, and set career goals

What We’re Looking For

  • Entry-level candidate with strong fundamentals in civil/transportation engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or closely related field
  • Familiarity or coursework in roadway design, geometric design, and transportation principles
  • Experience or coursework with 3D modeling tools (OpenRoads/OpenRoads Corridor Modeling is highly desirable)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow direction from licensed engineers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time-management and organization skills to handle multiple assignments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (required)
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with AASHTO and state DOT roadway design standards
  • Experience with MicroStation/Civil 3D/OpenRoads or similar CAD/modeling tools
  • Internship or co-op experience in transportation or roadway design
  • Desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the future

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $26.59 - $46.54 per hour
  • Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), ESOP or similar long-term incentive plans, life insurance, and flexible scheduling (benefits administered by the confidential client)
  • This posting complies with Colorado pay-transparency requirements; the range above reflects the base hourly range the confidential client expects to offer for this position.
