What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Associate Roadway Engineer to join their roadway design team in Altamonte Springs, FL. In this role you will support roadway and temporary traffic control design efforts under a licensed engineer’s supervision, develop 3D roadway models, prepare technical documents, and help deliver safe, code-compliant plans for roadway and expressway projects.

  • Work under the supervision of a licensed engineer to analyze and prepare roadway and Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP) designs, calculations, and drawings for expressway/limited-access facilities and arterial/local roads using DOT or local jurisdiction criteria
  • Develop 3D roadway models using corridor modeling tools (GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads)
  • Prepare engineering reports, contract documents, and supporting calculations for review by a licensed engineer
  • Propose practical, innovative solutions to design challenges and present recommended solutions in internal meetings
  • Track and provide initial review of technicians’ or designers’ work, as assigned
  • Manage timely completion of multiple tasks and maintain accurate timesheets and expense reports
  • Contribute to proposals and marketing efforts as requested, including providing updated resumes or summaries
  • Take ownership of professional growth — seek feedback, pursue training, and set development goals

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of roadway geometric design principles and design criteria
  • Familiarity or interest in corridor modeling (GEOPAK/OpenRoads) and drafting standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multi-discipline project teams
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and willingness to learn from licensed engineers
  • Security clearance: None required for this role

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (as listed by Confidential Client): $26.59 - $46.54 per hour
