What You’ll Do

This entry-level Associate Roadway Engineer role supports roadway design and delivery for critical infrastructure projects. Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, you will:

  • Analyze and prepare roadway and Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP) designs, calculations, and drawings for expressway/limited‑access and arterial/local facilities using DOT and local‑jurisdiction criteria
  • Develop 3D corridor models of roadways using GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads
  • Prepare engineering reports, contract documents, and design submittals for review by a licensed engineer
  • Propose practical, innovative solutions to design challenges and present recommended designs in internal meetings
  • Coordinate with internal design teams and communicate with external stakeholders as required
  • Track and perform initial quality checks on work completed by technicians or designers
  • Manage timely completion of multiple assigned tasks, timesheets, and expense reports
  • Own your professional growth by seeking feedback, pursuing training, and updating your resume for marketing opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
  • Familiarity with roadway design principles and DOT/local criteria for TTCP and roadway geometry
  • Experience with or willingness to learn GEOPAK corridor modeling and/or OpenRoads
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Team player with a growth mindset; entry‑level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
