What You’ll Do
This entry-level Associate Roadway Engineer role supports roadway design and delivery for critical infrastructure projects. Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, you will:
- Analyze and prepare roadway and Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP) designs, calculations, and drawings for expressway/limited‑access and arterial/local facilities using DOT and local‑jurisdiction criteria
- Develop 3D corridor models of roadways using GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads
- Prepare engineering reports, contract documents, and design submittals for review by a licensed engineer
- Propose practical, innovative solutions to design challenges and present recommended designs in internal meetings
- Coordinate with internal design teams and communicate with external stakeholders as required
- Track and perform initial quality checks on work completed by technicians or designers
- Manage timely completion of multiple assigned tasks, timesheets, and expense reports
- Own your professional growth by seeking feedback, pursuing training, and updating your resume for marketing opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
- Familiarity with roadway design principles and DOT/local criteria for TTCP and roadway geometry
- Experience with or willingness to learn GEOPAK corridor modeling and/or OpenRoads
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Team player with a growth mindset; entry‑level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
