Associate Quality Control
The Associate Quality Control role involves performing timely sample testing and analysis in a laboratory setting, maintaining accurate records, and supporting quality assurance processes. The position requires proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, adherence to GMP standards, and the ability to assist with equipment maintenance and customer sample requests. This contract-to-hire role operates on rotating 12-hour shifts in a fully onsite environment at the Kansas City facility.

Responsibilities
This role supports the laboratory quality control function at a Confidential Client site. Key responsibilities include:
- Gather and test samples within required timeframes.
- Enter test results accurately into SAP and store retains as required.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and legible test records per procedures.
- Perform cleaning and routine housekeeping for the lab and testing equipment.
- Assist with minor laboratory equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Prepare and ship samples for external laboratory testing and support customer pre-ship sample requests.
- Conduct testing and analysis for special projects and nonconforming product investigations.
- Cover laboratory shift vacancies as needed and assist with updating laboratory procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team and customer needs.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Entry-level candidates and recent graduates are welcome.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced lab.
- Familiarity with quality control and laboratory processes, including GMP and quality assurance concepts.
- Basic knowledge or exposure to chemistry/biology lab techniques (titration, viscosity, pH measurement).
- Experience or coursework with analytical techniques such as HPLC and GCMS is a plus.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills; experience with statistical analysis is beneficial.
- Team-oriented, dependable, and willing to help across tasks and shifts.
Additional Skills & Technical Experience
- Proficiency with common office tools (word processing, databases, spreadsheets) and data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Experience with wet chemistry and instrumentation such as Braebender, Anton Paar, Variomax, Bruker NIR, moisture balances, analytical balances, pipettes, ovens, mixers, and related lab equipment.
- Good attendance and professionalism required.
Work Environment & Schedule
- This is a fully onsite role at the North Kansas City site (Confidential Client).
- Initial paid training: daytime schedule (7:00 AM–4:00 PM, Mon–Fri) for approximately two months.
- Ongoing schedule: rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), rotating weekly; facility operates 24/7 and may require holiday coverage. Night shift typically staffed by two people.
- Personal protective equipment (goggles, steel-toed boots, gloves) required; helmet required on the plant floor.
- Monthly performance reviews and an environment that emphasizes procedure adherence and safety.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour (Contract to Hire). Final pay within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
