Role Overview
This is an entry-level engineering position supporting water and wastewater infrastructure projects for a confidential client in the engineering sector. The Associate, Project Delivery Engineer will support project delivery from planning and design through construction and closeout, assist with technical analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective execution.
What You’ll Do
- Assist on water and wastewater engineering projects from inception through completion, supporting on-time, in-scope, and on-budget delivery.
- Help develop project plans, engineering designs, and technical specifications for pipelines, pumping stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure.
- Perform system capacity evaluations and technical analyses of source, treatment, pumping, distribution/collection, and storage systems to support operations, service extensions, or growth planning.
- Support multiple small-to-medium sized projects and varied engineering assignments across planning, design, and construction phases.
- Translate technical information into effective engineering solutions and actionable deliverables.
- Coordinate technical activities with consulting engineers, technicians, and CAD staff as needed.
- Complete special projects and tasks assigned by team leads or managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
- 0–2 years’ experience in engineering design, planning, construction, project delivery, or project management (internships and co-op experience count).
- Familiarity or coursework with water system and wastewater collection hydraulic modeling is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering design theory and practice, construction and contract management, and utility operations.
- Understanding of water quality, treatment processes, and industry trends impacting water/wastewater systems.
- Familiarity with applicable regulatory and environmental requirements and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills (reports, presentations, and collaborative meetings).
- Good interpersonal skills, including teamwork, diplomacy, and the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license.
Logistics & Work Environment
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Travel: Up to 20% as required for site visits, investigations, and project meetings.
- Work setting: Primarily office-based with occasional field visits to water/wastewater facilities.
- Compensation: Estimated at $103,299 per year (source estimate).
