Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Associate Product Engineer (Product Development) focused on semiconductor product development. This role is ideal for early-career engineers who want hands-on experience across product characterization, qualification, and new product introduction (NPI). The primary focus is on analyzing product/test/manufacturing data, supporting product releases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development, evaluation, qualification, and release of semiconductor products and technologies.
- Analyze product, test, and manufacturing data to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Participate in product characterization, validation, reliability assessment, and production release activities.
- Collaborate with Design, Test, Manufacturing, Quality, and Applications Engineering teams across the product lifecycle.
- Assist in root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective action development.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance yield, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, test reports, product specifications, and engineering records.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), product transfers, and sustaining engineering efforts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Understanding of semiconductor devices, electronics, manufacturing processes, or product development fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing, experimentation, or engineering evaluation methods through coursework, projects, internships, or work experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in product development, reliability, quality, manufacturing, or related engineering disciplines.
- Experience via coursework, internships, research, or professional work in semiconductor testing, product engineering, validation, or failure analysis.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools, statistical methods, characterization techniques, programming/scripting, automation, or engineering analysis tools.
- Experience working with laboratory equipment and measurement systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Expected salary range for new hires: $71,989 to $99,006 per year.
- This position may qualify for a discretionary performance-based bonus.
- Benefits include medical, vision, dental coverage, 401(k), paid vacation, holidays, sick time, and other standard benefits. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
Location & Travel
- Job location: Wilmington, MA (telecommute/remote options noted).
- Required travel: approximately 10% of the time.
- Applicant location requirement: United States (applicants must meet any export licensing requirements where applicable).
