Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Associate Neurophysiologist for a field-based role in Michigan. This position provides intraoperative neuromonitoring (IOM/IONM) during surgical procedures. Full training is provided — this is an excellent opportunity for candidates beginning their IONM career or those with some related experience seeking hands-on OR work and professional growth.
What You’ll Do
- Provide intraoperative neuromonitoring during surgical cases to assist surgeons and surgical teams in real time
- Obtain patient medical histories and consult with surgeons about structures at risk and monitoring modalities
- Display, label, and document waveforms for measurements such as latencies, amplitudes, and conduction times following established protocols
- Communicate monitoring findings and alerts to the surgical team throughout procedures
- Select and follow appropriate monitoring protocols and troubleshoot equipment or signal issues to ensure accurate data collection
- Complete required documentation, IOM logs, and timely file uploads
- Maintain neuromonitoring equipment and perform routine maintenance checks
- Adhere to company policies, codes of conduct, and applicable laws and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned, and represent the confidential client in a professional manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus typically 2 years of related experience; OR an advanced degree without experience; OR equivalent work experience
- Certified in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) — required or in progress as specified by the client
- Familiarity with Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM), human anatomy & physiology, and technical troubleshooting preferred
- Operating Room (OR) experience is a plus
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to handle competing demands and frequent changes in scheduling
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented setting; must be able to communicate in English with surgeons and OR staff
- Ability to travel regularly for field-based assignments (see Travel & Physical Demands)
- Must be eligible for hospital privileges where required and meet applicable physical and vaccination requirements (including COVID-19 vaccine, if applicable)
- Eligible for medical malpractice insurance at standard rates (insurance provided by the employer)
- Maintain CNIM status as required
Compensation
- Estimated pay: $52,600 per year (estimated). Exact pay, benefits, and total compensation will be determined by the confidential client and may vary by location and experience.
Travel & Physical Demands
- Travel up to 25%
- Ability to transport and set up equipment weighing up to ~50 lbs (IONM system, laptop, and supplies)
- Ability to bend, stand for periods, use visual and auditory skills, and maintain manual dexterity while wearing PPE (gloves, masks, gowns, goggles)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to support field assignments
